for Banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI)
Motivation (Why)
A leading banking and finance company in Finland was grappling with performance issues due to its current, outdated Application Performance Management (APM) platform, which was incompatible with the modernized and dynamic cloud environment. In the era of automation and digitalization, the client was using old and outdated infrastructure that was causing frequent outages of business-critical applications. Additionally, a lack of clearly defined business Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and transparency from the incumbent IT provider led to high costs and a lack of initiative for a major transformation. Hence, to adopt the emerging technologies and cater to the changing market demand, a major IT transformation solution was mandated to stay relevant in the dynamic marketplace.
Techtics (What & How)
We studied the client’s banking domain, applications, and technologies landscape - used a dynamic and progressive approach for replacing the old legacy solution with a highly scalable and modernized APM solution. Along with the team, we meticulously replaced the old legacy tool ‘CA Wily Introscope’ with an Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered APM solution called ‘Dynatrace OneAgent’.
I designed the end-to-end solution to meet the client’s growing needs and demands in the cloud-managed IT industry. Moreover, we extensively dedicated ourselves to deep-dive into each application's parameter, that had to be traced & interacted with more than 30 different customer teams. Enabling us to measure the depth of customization needed with the out-of-box functionalities.
Working along with the hybrid infrastructure transition, I lead the execution and changed the APM solution for the best in a careful step-by step-manner and ensured zero customer escalations. Furthermore, we conducted multiple demo and doubt-solving sessions to accustom the client and the operations team to the transformation.
Process WorkFlow

Reflection & Application (now & next)
This detailed solution covered over 80 applications encompassing more than 2000 servers and containers against the initial target of 700 servers and 30 applications. The client was elated by my contextual mastery and well-thought-out plan, which ensured AI-driven Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and automated alerting, routing to the responsible team for auto ticket closure. Moreover, this transformation solution ensured auto scalability for cloud environments such as AWS and Kubernetes and end-to-end application to infra relation visibility, along with app-code level visibility.
Additionally, several alerts were integrated to emails, ServiceNow, ITOM, MS Teams, and Slack applications for proactive notification to operations teams.
My company received an additional implementation requirement for more than 3.5 million euros, spanning in the next four years, and fostered the relationship with the client. My work was recognized through various awards such as ‘Contextual Master’, ‘On the Spot’ and ‘Star Team’. The overall hybrid infrastructure transition project additionally received the prestigious award for ‘Best Executed Program’ in Blitz 2021.
